Projects for schools
The InCanto Cultural Association partnered with the IC Piazza Sauli Institute (classes VF and VG Alonzi school, classes II D and IV D Battisti school) for the creation and implementation of the project “Kids at work with Gianni Schicchi” relating to participation in the SIAE Per Chi Crea call for proposals in collaboration with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities.
The show was created by Maestro Isabella Ambrosini, along with teachers Patrizia Martinelli and Roberta Arcese, who oversaw the adaptation for the children, guiding them in creating the sets, rewriting the libretto, and drawing the comic strip.
Indeed, thanks to the workshops and enrichment activities offered by the winning school, in collaboration not only with the InCanto Association, but also with the collaboration of writer Giuseppe Bordi, illustrator Domenico Lacava, and the Accettella Puppet Theatre, after two years of work, the students performed and sang, sharing an alternative stage space and reworking Giovacchino Forzano’s libretto and Giacomo Puccini’s arias, alongside the young professional singers selected by InCanto and Maestro Ambrosini, who expertly supervised the direction and the musical and choral performances.
Originally conceived as a theatrical performance, the show was later reworked—in compliance with the new COVID regulations—as a video shot and edited using the innovative split technique thanks to the remote intervention of director Roberto Carotenuto and audio engineer Giacomo De Caterini.
The final product, a reflection of our times, was presented on Tuesday, May 18th at 5:00 PM during an online conference attended by Councilor Francesca Vetrugno, who acknowledged her patronage of the initiative, which she deemed of great educational value.
